Hello,
Let's discuss the options:
There's a Valid Marks tab. Valid Marks represent the default grading marks for the gradebook and be be added with whatever values the teacher wants to use for assignments and grading.
There's a Narrative Grades tab. Various Narrative Marks can be created. Narrative Marks are applied on the assignment (there's a dropdrown for this when adding an assignment). When a Narrative Mark is selected for an assignment, the default Valid Marks will not be used.
There's a Rules tab. Grading rules allow teachers to applying rules such as: drop lowest grade, replace with average or replace with highest assignment, etc.
If you are creating Narrative Grades, please note that when the Narrative Grade type is added, it must be identified with a naming convention, then click the Save button. Then add the marks to use in that Narrative Grade set, and at the top, there's another Save button. I am including this article with further documentation: Gradebook - Narrative Grading

To sum up my issues with the Narrative Grading is that I can not create/save any sets. If I were to go in and try to create a set for a 5 point scale. I will click "Add a New Set" Then it would let me type in the name and description. When I click save, the name of the set populates above the "Add a New Set" button and it is outlined in a light blue rectangle. with "remove" text in red on the right side. I DO NOT get any chance or options to edit marks. I see how it was done in the document and the tutorials but for me it doesn't populate to allow me to edit marks or create anything. Then when I click around in different tabs the set vanishes.

Hello,
Once you have created a Title for the new Narrative Marks, you will want to delete the marks that you don't want to use (from the listed menu), and add then ones that you do want to use. When you add a mark, the mark is added at the bottom of the list. Add the value and percentage. You may want to do some removal of the non-needed codes for easier navigation.
If you are still experiencing issues, please contact your district's Aeries Admin.
